Another leisurely breakfast, then I walked another stretch of the Walk of Fame. I also bought some Hollywood T-shirts, since I had deliberately not brought lots of tops.
Then Eliot Stein, host of the Stein Online show (on CompuServe Interactive Radio and Broadcast.Com) and his family, picked me up in a Chevy BelAir, and we went to lunch at Subway. After lunch I saw around their home, complete with troll doll collection, then it was time to go to the show in Burbank.
The guest was Tim Neely, book editor of Goldmine Magazine and of the price guide-"Standard Catalog of American Records", on the topic of record collecting. Eliot showed me an example of one of the items mentioned.
It was fascinating watching Eliot at work - talking to the guest and to Broadcast.com, typing in the forum on CompuServe and relaying members' questions to the guest, and operating all the equipment. The studio was full of tapes and books. Eliot included me on the show for a few minutes. I've never seen more clocks tapes or books in the same place!
After the show, we went out to another famous restaurant to eat (I regret I forget the name), then a drive around town before being dropped off at the hotel. I can understand why American restaurants are geared up to providing boxes to take food home - the portions are large.
In episode 9 - I go bay-watching and window-shopping.
