Tuesday was another beautiful day, so I drove out to Malibu Lagoon State Park. There I saw my first wild pelicans, as well as other more familiar birds. After watching the birds for some time, I moved onto the beach where I paddled in the Pacific, sat in the sun and watched the surfers. There was also a photographer with assistants wielding light reflectors, photographing a woman in a bikini.
I then drove further up the Pacific Coast Highway, turning back at Pt Magu. The scenery is wonderful. I miss the sea and mountains at home.
I walked the streets of L.A., including Melrose Avenue, Rodeo Drive, and the Beverley Centre, where I got a free bag and some very nice chocolate croissants. Apart from a few essentials, it was all window-shopping. The shopping centre was refreshingly cool after the sun outside. I also walked towards Beverley Hills, before catching a taxi back to the hotel.
