This table indicates correlations among terms that are in many cases only analogous rather than equivalent.
- Object Management Group, which is a consortium of companies who have banded together to, among other objectives, define standards for various aspects and applications of object-orientation.
- Entity/Relationship models only data and not behaviour.
- A Class classifies objects according to a common implementation. A Type classifies objects according to a common interface.
- A Class is the implementation of an Object Type or Concept.
- Concept is synonymous with Object Type
- The notion of conformance facilitates the hierarchical arrangement of objects.
- A Method is the code that implements an Operation.
