Energy Use
Different uses of energy make different demands on resources, and cause different kinds of pollution, as well as having different costs.
Power for heating, manufacturing, lighting and cooling may be produced a long way away from where it is used, so the pollution is not visible to the user. Transportation usually produces pollution on the spot, however, though it may not be obvious. Some uses of energy are more efficient than others.
